Trail Mitt Shells

Ragged Mountain's Trail Mitt Shell is our versatile, no-nonsense solution to add some warmth and provide greater wind and snow protection for your normal gloves or mitts. These shells are a stalwart, reliable piece of your outdoor gear, as they add so much advantage for so little cost or bulk. Just fold them flat and stuff them in your back pocket until you get out in the field, where they slip on easily over your liners. Pair them with our Powerstretch Mitt Liners, our Mountain Mitts, or our legendary Tuckermitts - depending on the temperatures you anticipate. The taslan backs add breathability, while the durable coated 500 Cordura® palms and thumbs handle the abuse. There's a strip of Goodgrip across the palm to help you hang on to critical tools, and elastic across the wrist to keep the Trail Mitt Shells snug against your liners. Elastic at the gauntlet keeps snow from infiltrating.
The seams are not taped or sealed, so if you anticipate using these shells in especially wet environments (lobstering in February, perhaps?), we recommend you apply SeamGrip® to the stitching. If you like simple, functional designs without a lot of bells and whistles, then these shells are for you.
