Ragged Mountain's Fall-Line Hoody was designed as a light intermediate layer for snowboarders and skiers, but it has been embraced for all sorts of unintended uses. The stretch-grid fabric is light and airy, so it's a great pull-over for your summer float trip or beach barbecue. At the other end of the spectrum, its breathability and wicking properties make it a great choice for any serious winter expedition layering system. It packs amazingly small and light, but when things get chilly, the comfy hood--which can fit under a helmet--and thumbholes really seal out the elements.
Ski mountaineers and winter climbers like the raglan sleeves because they give full range of movement, but backpackers praise the grid-style shearing that gives the Fall-Line Hoody its incredible packablity. The nylon/polyester/spandex fabric is as durable as it is versatile, so when you bring it back from heli-skiing in Western Canada, keep it handy for lounging around the cabin as well.
