Ragged Mountain's Chute Jacket takes advantage of new fabric technology developed by Polartec®. Their ground-breaking Power Air™ encapsulated knit gives the Chute a nice hardface finish that doesn't compromise on stretch. The Power Air™ capsules are arranged in a micro-grid pattern to trap warm air and provide the thermal efficiency expected of high-performance layers like this one.
This new jacket combines a lot of the best features we've put in some of our other pieces to give you a versatile jacket that you'll reach for all year. The tail is cut longer to provide more coverage in active situations, and the three-panel hood cuts a low profile under a helmet or just pulled up by itself. The front zip comes up nice and high and has a soft backing by your chin in case you really want to burrow right inside. Snug, gasket-like cuffs seal out the elements, and keep the snow and meltwater from running down your arms if you're swinging ice tools overhead or working on the power lines. There are six pockets altogether: two zippered handwarmers, two zippered chest pockets, and two internal pouch pockets.
All these features add up to a jacket that will serve you well, but it's that fabric that really steals the show. The durable no-pill outer face of the Chute Jacket will surprise you with its built-in stretch, and the warmth-to-weight ratio is nothing short of impressive.
