| Gunning for a few ski laps in the backcountry after work? Our new Glade Jacket has you in mind. It's perfect for the skin track, as the tight weave of the two-way stretch nylon DWR body will help you warm up fast and get those muscles loosened up, then knife through the wind beautifully on the way back down. The four-way stretch nylon DWR softshell on the shoulders and arms allows for unlimited range of motion so you can fit this one fairly snug and streamlined. The full front zip makes adding or shedding this layer a snap, and the soft windflap behind it keeps your chin happy if you zip it right up to the top. The durable water-resistant (DWR) finish throughout means that the wet snow falling from the sky or being blown off the trees as you ski by won't dampen your experience. The Glade Jacket has two zippered handwarmer pockets and one zippered chest pocket for your sundries. The two giant pouch pockets inside are a good place to stow your gloves during various tasks so you don't need to drop them in the snow every time you want to tear open a snack. Elastic binding at the cuffs and hem keep out the wind and loose snow. We were certainly thinking of the off-piste skier when we built this jacket, but then found ourselves grabbing it for quick trips around town, and stowing it in the pack for dayhikes.
